    Dear Experts,

I have an AEG BES355010M oven, bought a couple of months ago from John Lewis. It didn’t come with telescopic shelf rails; we had considered buying a model with them, but they were considerably more expensive.

While browsing in John Lewis I noticed that one of their own brand ovens – clearly made by Electrolux / AEG – did have telescopic rails. Cheekily I unclipped one from that oven and tried it in the AEG oven that I bought, where it fitted perfectly. So I’d now like to buy a pair of those rails. Strangely none of the own-brand ovens currently on their website seems to have telescopic rails, and I don’t know the model number of the (discontinued?) model that did.

If I enter the BES355010M model number into online stores, they fail to find any telescopic rails; I guess the database of appliance model and spare part compatibility is based on what parts replace parts actually supplied with the appliance, not parts supplied with other models that would fit as upgrades.

So, can someone help me to confirm which AEG (Electrolux) telescopic rails will fit my oven?

I have found a number of cheap eBay listings that look very much like what I need, with part numbers 807835801 or 809097504. These two look identical in the photos on the listings. I might just buy one or other of them – but if anyone here can offer some guidance first, that would be great!

    Thanks.

Sadly, you would need the model (preferably the PNC) number off the model that had the rails that fitted in order to find them.

There’s scores and scores of models, not all are the same and not all the telescopic runners are the same used in them so, whilst not quite a needle in a haystack to find, it’s not far off.

John Lewis JLBIOSS750 (PNC:94418243301) is fitted the telescopic runners and this is the part for them:

Many thanks for that. Your post came about an hour after I had ordered a random pair on eBay which have now arrived.

Now that I look at the shop.aeg.co.uk website, I see that it does offer those rails (part 5611854117) when I enter my oven’s model number – yet none of the thrid-party spare parts suppliers did.

The ones I’ve bought are part number 8090975504. They might differ slightly in the position of the post at the back end of the rail. I wonder if the shape of the shelves has changed slightly? They connect to the oven side grids perfectly, but I’m not sure where the post at the back is supposed to be relative to the corner of the shelf. Hmmm. These ones cost me about £30; the other part number is £70.

The part number you quote doesn’t quite match my research but 809097504/9 is designed for the Polish built double ovens: https://shop.aeg.co.uk/cooking/cookers-ovens-hobs/telescopic-runners/oven-telescopic-runner-set/p/8090975049

On the other hand part number 561185411/7 is for German built single ovens: https://shop.aeg.co.uk/cooking/cookers-ovens-hobs/telescopic-runners/oven-telescopic-runner-set/p/5611854117

Looking at pictures of both parts on the AEG site, the positions of the post at the back end of the rail do indeed seem to be different.

I’ve found some 561185411/7 on ebay for £49 at: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254214862731?itmmeta=01JZNETJT4H9RQVNRY30BVDF1X&hash=item3b3062f78b

You are right about the part number; the packaging for mine says …7504, not …75504. The wrong number came from the eBay listing.

So do you have a way to get from a part number to a list of appliance model numbers? All the sites I’ve used will let you enter your appliance model and it will tell you if the part is compatible, but not enter a spare part number and get a list of appliance models.

The Electrolux technical website does allow this, yes. However, only people within the whitegoods industry can access it.
