Hi my machine is an LG F1402FDS.

I was running a wool programme and chose the cold temperature option.

The bottom of the glass of the front door felt quite warm when it was filling up with water.

Should it not feel cold in this instance?

I checked how it felt because some items have shrunk recently which I wasn’t expecting. I have used wool detergent.

Could there be something wrong with the temperature control on the machine?

The other thing I wondered is whether the machine is connected to the hot supply rather than the cold. This seems unlikely since I’ve had the machine plumbed (by someone other than me) in for just over three years.

However I’ve not really had any wool or delicate items until recently so it may not have been an issue. A couple of cotton items have shrunk too not so long ago but that could have been just them.

My washing machine is next to my kitchen sink. When I started a washing machine cycle the other day I ran the hot and cold sink taps seperately at the same time. I have a combi boiler. The water from the cold tap flowed as normal but from the hot tap there was less of a flow that usual. I thought that might be because the washing machine inlet has been connected to the wrong supply?

I haven’t moved the machine to check the fill because it’s way too heavy for me to be able to move. It sits under a work surface.

Well thanks to being able to write my thoughts here it suddenly occurred to me to check the if the connector taps were inder the sink. They are – and the washing machine inlet pipe has been connected to the hot water supply. Well there you go – I can’t believe it’s been like that the past 3years!
I tried disconnecting the hose but couldn’t pull it towards the cold connector. Either it’s been jammed in place by the machine or its not long enough.

As I can’t move the machine I well get a handyman in to reconnect it for me. is it possible the inlet hose would require an extension to make it long enough? Or should it be long enough anyway. The machine is to the left of the kitchen sink.
