ParticipantHi,
This machine will fill but when the drum rotates it tries to get to spin
speed, a beep is heard, the program shuts down and pumps the water
out.I found some frayed leads adjacent to the motor plug where they are
secured to the tub, two where from the motor and one was from the
heater. It may be that they have touched and blown the module.
There are two modules on this machine (not including the bezel pcb). The
one behind the frame of the machine which holds the bezel panel is called
the Power Module DC (1604400) and the one that sits on the base of the
machine is called a Chopper pcb (1603759).The motor leads attach to the Chopper pcb and the power module also
connects into the Chopper as well as connecting to the bezel pcb.Connect and Masterpart hold the 1604400 but the other is a special order.
Under normal fault conditions it would seem that this one goes most often
but which one should I plum for? – there are no `bang` marks on the modules. What does the Chopper pcb do?
Thanks
Laurence

if the motor spins at wash it is normally a tacho coil fault it may be a bad connection at the motor plug i had the same problem with this model before and wrongly changed the pcb which didnt fix it then checked the motor and there was no circuit through the tacho coil.

I had a job on one of these about a month ago and the the fault code said triac but in the end it was the chopper board masterpart special order 8 days GLEN

Chopper board is used to obtain the 1600 spin speed.
I will send you test info.

Thanks everyone for your input.
I put the machine through a test procedure and it came up with E30 –
motor tacho failure.I have a circuit through the tacho coil, the tacho magnet is secure on the
shaft and the plug wiring is ok.Because the chaffed motor (armature) lead and heater lead where
adjacent to each other in the loom (bare conductors exposed on both)
and that they may have touched and damaged the chopper board, plus
the fact that the motor leads also enter this board then I am making the
assumption that the chopper board is the culprit 🙁 – unless someone
can assure me differently. Thanks again for your help.
