    Can somone refresh my memory on how to test an inlet tap. my girlfriends washing machine is flooding the place when she aint home. just been round and took the draw out and saw that it was dripping qiuckley from the inlet, narowed it down to the hot inlet. took the hot inlet tap off the machine and connected it up to a spare hose and i was right the hot inlet tap is infact letting water through constant only dripping mind. is ther any other test i can do can it be repaired or shall she just buy a new one.

    The only safe cure is a new inlet valve (which i presume you are calling a ‘tap’)…they are not expensive and can be obtained easily from any supplier.
