    Hi

I am in NZ and recently when our Fisher and Paykel Smart Drive 085 stopped taking in water, I went online to see if I could find a solution. Through Google, I found this forum, which gave me ideas on what the problem was. It turned out that the problem was the same as one on here, so I followed it through and machine got fixed by me.

Up until yesterday though, our machine was working fine. Went to use it last night and although it powered up, there was no cycle. Again through this forum, I found the answer, it turned out to be a faulty Reed Switch. Off to the electricial store, I picked one up for NZ $57.00 Returning home, I installed it, re-assembled machine and its all go again. So thanks for the help, it saved me a call out fee of approx $70.

Anyway, what I would like to know, is it possible to use another brand Reed Switch in the Smart Drive and what voltage do they work at. In case the new one packs up later. The switch is Hamlin and numbers on it are 59030 – 902. I don’t really want to be paying $57 each time.

I’ll move this to the Australasian forum ( I know you don’t always see eye to eye with the Oz) but you will be more likely to get an answer from one or two Aussie guys who know their stuff in here. 😉

    Jim.

PS, Don’t mention the bloody cricket . 😥

    Here’s Hamlin:

Whether or not you can persuade them to part with 1 reed switch, rather than the 100s of 1000s they sell to F+P each year may be a moot point.

Good luck with it, there is a sticky at the top of the forum for any comments about our woeful performance in the cricket. If no-one posts in the next three weeks, I’ll be able to delete it. Which would make me very happy………. 😀

    Regards,
    Penguin45.
