The ISE10 arrives…

I finally decided to take the plunge and go for an ISE10. The man came & took away the 10yr old Bosch on Friday, leaving the ISE10 in its place. That thing is astonishingly quiet. Almost no motor noise during the wash cycle, and although that obviously changes during the spin, it’s still one quiet motor.

There’s just one little niggle. When the door (the one with the mirror finish on the inside) is closed, it’s makes contact on the right hand side but it’s about 5mm away from the case on the left hand side. The ISE10 isn’t completely level. It sits solidly on the ground, no rocking, but is visibly lower on the left if you’re looking for that sort of thing. Would leveling up the machine mean the door will close properly? Or is this a tolerance thing which no amount of twiddling will fix?

    It’s a tolerance thing I reckon. 😉

The door is designed to flex very slightly and it always freaks me out whenever I install one as it just seems not right, but is. Don’t ask me to explain that one, it’s just the way it is.

The factory says that the door is designed to flex in order to take weight and not break. Apparently it relieves stress on the hinges and they said something else as well but I’d switched off by that point, bored as to why.

I am happy you’re pleased with it though, it’s a seriously good bit of kit that should trundle on and on for many years.

Thanks for the quick response, I won’t bother spending time fiddling with it if it’s a tolerance thing. It doesn’t rattle or anything, it’s just a niggle. Another week or two and I probably won’t even notice it.
