And its name will certainly be mud if it has a sealed drum and has to be skipped at three years like the rest of their range :rolls:
I’m all for them pushing higher cost machines like these though because customers are more likely to have a £500 machine repaired than a £200 one. In theory at least 8)

If a car maker released a model with a sealed Engine,no bolted joints, all welded together and not possible to open, it would be all over the papers, Watchdog etc.
I know the purchase price is in a different ballpark but I think a customer has a right to expect a 500 quid consumer durable to have servicible parts and a ‘reasonable’ life expectancy. 😯

It’s the way of the world. Daresay a complete new drum and tub will only be a ton or so and maybe worth doing for a £500 machine. Dirty, messy, noisy bearing changes will soon be a thing of the past along with other skills.

Would be interested to know what Indesit want for a sealed drum for one of these. As theyre keen to get as much business as possible with their ‘free parts, just pay our callout’ caper I cant see them supplying drums to the indies at a price that would allow us to undercut them.
I think sealed drums are a very useful designed in monopoly for them, whoever thought of it must have got a nice bonus that year 👿

More MUDdy news, Indesit’s latest ‘Partfinder’ DVD (Issue 17) doesn’t even list the model MUD10637P. I guess we’ll have to pay to see that model listed in next years Partfinder rip-off DVD. 👿

10Kg and 1600 spin and still in a box about the same size – maybe a little deeper than normal? Maybe they’re not anticipating a requirement for any spares just yet. After all, as it’s built on Titanic principles; what could possibly go wrong? 😆

I guess that’ll allow you to fit the new drum unit then :rotfl: .
