ParticipantMorning everyone.
What will the new features be of the new ISE 10 model?
I will be looking to get one eventually but the noisy filling valves & pump are putting me off etc. I know its built like a work horse though!
Regarding the pump why cant you use the older style pumps that washing machines 20/30yrs ago had that didnt have the filters on them they just dealt with whatever was in there. These were very quiet running.
Is there particular asko machine out now that it will look like?

I have the “old” ISE 10, I find the pump very quiet. I agree the fill seems loud with an abrupt “cut off” but I find that a fairly minor issue. Still interested in what the new ISE 10 will offer though.

And as if by magic…
Sorry I couldn’t make the pages live until we’d had our conference yesterday and introduced the dealers to the new machines. Please do bear in mind that the photos are of pre-production machines and the final production machine may be very slightly different, mostly in graphics and suchlike.
There is a LOT more information to be written on the new machines, the shop pages given are only scratching the surface of the new drum and the capability of it in particular. But, I can assure you that it is utterly, utterly brilliant. 😉

Looks great… I guess its still built by Asko ensuring top quality!
Can you advise regarding the pump and the noisy filling?

Hi Richard,
I dont’ find the pumps on the machines noisy at all. I don’t get it as they sure ain’t as noisy as many and I can’t say it’s even remotely intrusive. If you like though I can measure it with a dB meter on the current range, not the new one as they won’t be built for another two weeks.
As for filling, the only things you can hear is the water running into the machine which is entirely dependent on the water pressure from the supply. You can throttle that though using either the tap or you can buy a restrictor to do it as well.
Then you have the noise of the water running on the outer tank. On these machines that isn’t as quiet as a lot of machines out there simply because the outer tank is stainless steel and not plastic. Not so good for the noise although it doesn’t bother me in the slightest and I can’t really hear any difference really in level, only tone but, the stainless outer tank is still far, far better for durability, longevity and cleanliness.
But noise is a very subjective thing, as I have pointed out many, many times and wrote extensively trying to explain it to people in this article some time ago.

Thank you for the reply.
Are the new models built by Asko still?

The new model looks and sounds fab  Sure glad the drop down door no longer fitted cause i would not be able to have one if it was! I will be a very happy bunny when one is plumbed in my kitchen 😀

Do you mean you have heard the wash cycle of one? 😀 or as I think I realise now it “sounds” good from what you are reading on this website?
The drop down door I can live without, it was a quirk I had grown to look forward to as and when I get an ISE (current washer not quite dead and refurb not quite due yet).

I mean it sounds great from what i have read 😉 But i will say that i do not mind how much noise it makes as long as it does its job well! I would rather a noisy machine than a pile of dirty washing any day:?: Unless a person lives in a flat where noise is more of a neighbour issue i fail to understand what the problem is, with hand washing and twin tubs you are more or less stuck on the spot, so at least it is possible to go off and do something else while the machine does all the hard work for you :worthy:
Anyhow, a big thumbs up to the people who came up with this made to last machine

Hi,
I’m seriously considering replacing our dying (worn bearings) Zanussi with the new ISE10 1607 machine. However, I note that it will have a bigger drum (8kg) than the outgoing model and a faster spin (1600rpm).
Having seen the buying help advice offered on the UKWhitegoods website re washing machine loads and spin speeds I’m concerned that the new model might not be a good idea for our simple needs: average of 3 to 4 washes per week with no-one having sensitive skin.In particular your advice on load sizes says:
“where a capacity over 5Kg was used that the mechanical action of the machine was affected. You can get over this problem with some clever drum design to take it to a 6Kg load and retain the wash results but, beyond that it becomes very difficult.”
and
“The other gem of information that isn’t told to people is that these machines require more water and more electricity for EVERY wash. For example a typical 7Kg load machine will use 15{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} more electricity and up to 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} more water than a standard 6Kg load machine but, because of the way the EU labeling system works it can still be sold as an “A” rated machine. Over a year this can add up to an additional 1800 litres of water, up to £73 a year in electricity and upwards of £30 a year on detergent.”And on speed spins your advice says:
“the difference between 800rpm and 1000 or 1100rpm was literally a thimble full of water”
and
“the bearings in the machine are also under far more strain the faster the drum spins so they tend to wear out quicker” and “the harder the spin the more potential wear on the clothing as well”.So I could do with some advice on whether the ISE10 1607 is good for us or whether we should buy a cheaper machine with a 6kg drum and spin of 1200 or 1300 rpm, e.g. a Miele W3204 for £699 or a Bosch or Zanussi?
Many thanks
