ParticipantI have a Samsung RS21 (I am aware of the issues!!)
I need to know whether my problem is related to the issues that Samsung would cover under their extended 5 year warranty or not, before i decide which course of action to take.
I switched off my water supply to the fridge freezer for a few days when I was changing the filter.
Now the ice unit is not working. (the water dispenser is working fine)
If I press the reset button as per the instruction manual the tray’s motorised machanism turns the ice cube tray, but it then fails to refill.
The cut off lever rises and falls ok and I can hear the mocroswitch click on and off.
I wondered if because the water flow was switched off a few days it was possible that the pipe where it emerges into the top of the freezer was possibly blocked?
All the other feature of the fridge/freezer are working and I have never had any faults with it?
Thank you

The issues covered by the RS21 extended guarantee refer to the refrigerator section only. Water to the ice maker is fed from the water supply directly not thro the filter – perhaps the water supply has an air lock or has frozen up where it passes through the rear into the ice maker.

How do I remove an airlock or unfreeze the pipe?
I have no fault codes showing as per the test.
Many thanks

You will not get fault codes because no component has failed. If you look at the back of the icemaker tray you can see where the water comes in. After switching off both the water supply and the electric try steaming it out and see if the water comes through on switch on and test.

Thanks Donkey for your help.
I have found out the reason I have no ice; I took the panel off the back at the bottom and could see that the pipe that comes out of the switch block and goes up the back to the ice filler was kinked.
I staightened the pipe and now its all working great.
Ice again 😀
I think one of my kids must have gone around the back and pulled it !
So I think I’ll enjoy it before it packs up (with the other RS21 issue !!)
Thanks
