ParticipantHi guys,
Here is the problem: the thermostat wire of my hotpoint icediamond (a little one, I haven’t got the model number but is a small fridge with icebox on the top part and the 2 shelves on the bottom) were cut out during defrosting.
I take out the thermostat part I need to replace, it is a Ranco but I don’t know which is the model number as there are several different code on it, so I put here all of them:
Ranco K60-P1052
97 17-12P38
H 2621NIA FLA LRA VAC
3-4 6161/250 6 6 36 250
3-6 6161/250 6 6 36 250Can you tell me if it is possible and worth to get it fix?
Can you suggest me someone here in London that can fixed it. I call 2 shop and they will charge me 95£ to check it out and EVENTUALLY (not for sure) fix it…that’s why I would be sure it is possible to fix it before I call any of them.Thank you very much

I believe littlor advised on a previos post about this 😉
The model number will be beside the salad bin on the rating plate (or it should be at least).
Hotpoint thermostats are generally pretty reasonable to buy, although a universal K60 would do the trick the capillary will be a different length more than likely increasing the risk of damage.
As far as ftting goes, we cannot advise on this but it sounds as if you’re half way there already by removing the old one.
Power off at all times please while checking :zap:

Thank you very much.
I think Littlor reply to a similar post that my flatmate posted 2 month ago…when the fridge broke down, but he didn’t tell me about the reply.I hope I can fix it because now it’s 1 month and a half I need to shopping twice per day 😥
If anyone knows where I can find a spare-part shop around London SE1 please let me know something… it seems the yellow pages are useless on that subject (sigh)

If you let us know the model number I can easily send you a thermostat in a couple of days 😉
