Morning,i have a Lofra Range Oven which I think the thermostat needs replacing.
It does not matter what heat setting I put it at the oven burns everything.
The up to temperature light does not go out unless I turn the temperature switch right down of which the light goes out but the temperature still goes up to the extent that the element is glowing red.
The model is a MXG96MFI/C and I have been given a code and price £64 to replace it.
My question is, does anyone know how easy it is to fit ?
I am reasonable ok with DIY jobs but have never worked on a oven before.
Is there a manual that I may purchase or can someone give me some brief details on how to change it ?
If you need some more details please let me know.
Many Thanks
Gary
Unless you are competent with electrics and testing I would call an engineer experienced with that brand, Is it all electric or dual fuel? If its duel fuel you may need the engineer to be gas safe registered as there is a possibility of disturbing the hob which will need a tightness test doing.
Thanks Steve, your right I was going to try myself but the hob is gas and moving the cooker out of the gap it is in would be a worry. Oven is electric.
Thanks for replying
Gary
