Hi, my old whirlpool oven is slowly giving up the ghost. It is literally(!) being held together with sticky tape. We’re planning to take it and the ancient gas hob and replace both with a 60cm freestanding cooker, double oven and induction hob. Budget is up to around £1000

Every place I go tells me that the other place’s brands are rubbish — of course they do.
I’ve seen reasonable-looking Zanussi, AEG and Rangemaster, but now I’m completely confused about whether any of them are any good. Internet reviews are just confusing.

Requirements are: good cooking (maybe that’s not the specific expertise here!) reliabillity and fixability.
Any thoughts you may have will be helpful for my research.
    thanks!

As Dave has said it makes a big difference having good quality pans.

Up to about three years ago there was only AEG, Zanussi ( same group) and Hotpoint producing these. Now most of the major players are in the category A.O. link here personally I like the AEG and Hotpoints for cookers but Beko is a good option but I have not seen one of these in the flesh.

Probably more visits to local retailers and John Lewis and have a feel and play to see what’s right for you.
