    Hi Folks,

I actually had to go do a service call last night on an ISE10 and discovered something rather interesting about the door lock that might save you a bit of hassle if you get anyone saying that it’s tight or won’t close.

The problem was the light flashing telling the customer that the door wasn’t closed so, the machine wouldn’t start. The door wouldn’t catch either and presented as if the door lock was knackered.

So, tugged on the emergency release cord a couple of times then retried the door and, lo and behold it worked! Well, for a couple of goes anyway.

Next, I thought that the door lock itself couldn’t therefore be faulty, something else was causing the door hook not to engage the lock.

What I did was to do the same again and, it worked again fine. Then I loosened off the retaining Torx screw for the door lock itself very slightly, closed the door, opened it and retightened the screw once more to fix the lock into that position.

After that, as the seal was a bit tight I recalled what Mark had said about the locks and catch. So I smeared a bit of Vaseline on the hook, just a little and, as the seal was a little tight, a smear around the seal as well. After that the door worked A LOT smoother and seemed absolutely fine.

Only time will tell if it totally cures the issue but, on the face of it, it appears to as it was left working fine through two or three programs plus a load of testing by me.

    K.
