    Hi

Is there a way to re-align the eaton 4684.01D timer.I have had a problem for awhile on my indesit WG1234T that it didn’t let hot water in even tho the hose was connected with sufficient water pressure. I decided to check the solenoid valves and saw the hot wasn’t getting any voltage. I traced the live back to the timer but couldn’t check for power there due to the location so I remover the timer. When I removed the timer I turned the front selector knob too hard which has made one or more of the timer layers slip I think maybe due to pressure being applied to the lever that controls the water direction. I now have the Problem that the programs seem to be mixed ie. drains and fills at the same time and fills at the end of a cycle. Also the lever for water direction doesnt seem long enough to fit onto the timer and get back to where it was. :boops:

can anybody tell me how to reset the timer and shouldt here be an extra part on the end of the arm that attach’s to the timer, how do you align it to the arrow??????

The technical term for your timer is ‘buggered’ i’m afraid 😆

Given the age of the machine and the quality of the manufacturer the best advice is replace it…the machine that is!

Check to see that you have placed the two retaining screws into the correct holes.. on this model I think it is 11 and 5 positions.. the alternative bolt holes will mis-align the controller

Thanks allsorts I’ll give that a try, I kind of gave up when I got to the timer assuming it might be buggered as clivejameson put it and might be a good idea to get wiring diagrams etc. I threw it back together to get one last wash out of it but as it happens the hot solenoid now OPENS! lol but I think i’ve ruined the timer.

Iirc hot fill may only come on 60 or 90 degree wash. Did you try it on those before?

The way I used to check to see if I had located the selector correctly is; if you select 7, which is ‘Spin’, does it spin or does it stand still and try to take in water. If it spins then you’ve got it correct, but if it tries to take in water then you have used the wrong two positioning holes for the locating bolts.

There was no hot water intake before regardless of temp setting. I assume it was either a loose/bad connection on the timer connector or something internal on the timer. I have found a cheap timer for sale tho but could do with some advice on how to align the gears on the water director???
