I have two Hotpoint Aquarius wd420. Both machines work fine in flat ‘A’ I have used both as a replacement in flat ‘B’. Both machines when moved to flat ‘B’ do not work. Then when move back to ‘A’ both work. The water flows continuously on any wash cycle in flat ‘B’ and wash does not happen. The water pressure is strong, I can see it run through the soap tray. Is it too strong?

No idea what you mean by that but all I can say is if you suspect the water pressure too great then turn the stopcock down to restrict the flow. Then see what happens.

I think its syphoning down drain hose

I’d agree with den. If its syphoning it will keep adding water.

Make sure the drain hose is installed with it coming up the back of the machine at least 3/4 of the way up then down into your drain, the make sure that end end of the drain hose is not under the water that sits in the pipe. The end must be in open air.

I had a problem with too high water pressure – not with a washing machine but a shower – but just thought I’d let you know that a pressure-reducing valve fitted on the water supply is very effective and not very expensive. Just in case you find that the water pressure is the problem.

I’d say its because the waste outlet is too low causing syphon. As stated above. Machine will never reach “full”.
