Just read timjams post on bearing tools, I have been using old wm type for most bearings I do and they are well knackered.

The one I have is the one that has the big metal drift that fits into the part that fits into bearing, and due to its weight it makes easy work and less chance of going off centre.

Could UKW come up with a uni tool to sell to the trade at a reasonable cost.

We did look at this a while back I’m sure.

The problem was/is that, like bulk buying of spares, there simply wasn’t enough people involved to make it happen quite honestly.

Often what I’ve found is that even although we ask the questions on subjects liek this that onlyh a very few people will actually commit to whatever the project happens to be and that does massively hamper the effort that any of us put into it. Take for example the bulk spares purchases, we’d love to order a couple of pallets from Italy direct but there just hasn’t been enough interest in it.

Same thing with quite a few good ideas, we I thought they were pretty good.

But, if the interest is there and enough people are willing to get behind it then I don’t see any reason why it couldn’t be done.

    K.
