ParticipantHi.
We’ve just had a power cut and when power was restored, the fan on the oven came on. The clock is working as normal and all the dials are switched to ‘off’ but the fan just won’t stop.
Any help greatly appreciated. The model is AKP511.
Kind regards,

Sounds like the rotary selector switch on the right of your fascia has a problem. If you can attribute it too the power failure you may be able to clain from your energy supplier, but don’t hold your breath.

KevinPS, assuming you mean the fan in the oven and not a cooling fan.

If cooling fan its prob blown the thermostat controlling this fan. As kevin said

Many thanks for the replies 😀
It’s the fan which at the top away from the oven which I think cools the control area – control panel etc and can only be accessed by taking the top off.
When the oven is turned off but the clock is on, this fan won’t stop. Is there a thermostat for the cooling fan?
Not clued up on all this but would like to know exactly what needs replacing for when we get it repaired.
Many thanks again.

There should be a small stat that initiates the fan at 60 degrees as the roof surface heats up, it also drops put as the temperature cools after turn off. This can take 30 minutes before it switches the cooling fan off. Have you waited that long? If so, you have a stat problem.

I’ve had someone look at the oven and he’s managed to get everything sorted but now the grill element isn’t working!
It’s been tested outside the oven and works fine but no joy when fitted inside. Our guess is it’s some wire but is there a definate answer? Also when tested in the oven, power is going through both wires at the back – not sure if this is right!
Any help much appreciated
