ParticipantHi I am struggling to find a top loading washing machine, are they no longer made? Or am I not looking in the right place. Have always had zanussi or Phillips in the past. Am only seeing cheap brands. : help:

Hi
Bosch and Hotpoint stopped theirs a while ago due to low volume sales. Which leaves the Whirlpool AWE6517 slimline top loader which is still available around the £300 mark in stock at Appliances online among others. Or contact your local independant retailer.

Thanks for that, are whirlpool reliable? Or do I need to rob a bank for a may tag?

Hi
Whirlpool are the only manufacturer that I am aware of who still produce the slimline model. It hasn’t really c hanged in the last five years. Bosch and Hotpoint both discontinued theirs some years ago.
Maytag are at the budget end of the full size American range which are rated as semi commercial. Miele and others produce the full blown commercial ones at a couple of k plus. All of these large capacity machines have a different set of installation rules to the slimline Whirlpool.

Hi
The Maytag 3LMVWC400YW is approaching the 1k figure. The Whirlpool AWE6715 would be a good replacement for the Zanussi 😉

I have to admit I have never seen one on their price file or website. They may be available in other countries and someone has brought it into the UK, who knows.

Shop is quiet this morning which allows me to catch up and spend a little time on the net 😉
