KeymasterAllreet? How are you all doing?
Hoping to move into a new flat soon and I have always hankered after a dishwasher. Unfortunately the layout of the kitchen means that I could only place a dishwasher in a relatively inaccesible corner, where there is no way for a front loading unit to go. Does anyone know if there is any such thing as a top loading dishwasher? Failing that does anyone know of any ‘table-top’ dishwashers that are any good? I have had a look about but I am having trouble finding much useful info.
Thanks in advance.

Here’s a couple of table top ones
I’ve got the zanussi one, it’s relaible and cleans well. but it is small!
Bosch dishwashers in general are excellent.Would a washing machine fit in the fairly inaccesible corner? then you could put the dishwasher where your washer is

Cheers Clyde. I could get a top loading washer but I really want a washer/dryer and I haven’t really managed to find one. Well I have but I think it is only a centrifugal dryer. Without being in the property I am not sure how far I would have to lean over and I have a bad back, so this could be a problem if the washer dryer was ‘deep’. I might have another look though!
Zanussi sounds like it might be a good solution, its only me and the missus. I just want to have somewhere to wash a few plates, glasses and cutlery. Damn I hate washing cutlery!!!

Homark used to do a compact toploading dishwasher which you could inset into the work surface or mount on drawer runners to hide in the cupboard. Don’t know if they still do it though.

ParticipantTrue enough. looked like a big plastic bin sliding out of the cupboard. I recall them being around when I was doing my kitchen up so thats ? six or more years back…

Not seen one of those since the mid nineties 😀 Used to be out as the Servis Secret. Not a bad little dishwasher but a pain in the back to work on as you had to lift them out of the runners to do anything on them.

KeymasterHhhmmm, can’t find anything on Google. At least in the first 10 pages or so. Tabletop I guess it is then. Cheers everyone for the input.

I remember looking round a big electrical shop in Lille a couple of years ago and being surprised that just about all the washing machines that they sold were top loaders. Probably because the French tend to live in small flats and need to squeeze these things in.
My French is very rough but I see what appears to be half a dozen or so top loading washer dryers on
http://www.darty.com/webapp/wcs/stores/ … reId=10001or for a more inventive solution (which I don’t think I have ever seen here)
http://www.darty.com/webapp/wcs/stores/ … oryDisplayshows two what appear to be combined cooker/dishwasher with the dishwasher in place of the oven.

Cheers AlexZou. The French use different hose connectors to us in the UK don’t they? Might not be that hard to get adapters I guess. Perhaps an appliance cruise to Calais is in order, although the prices looked a bit on the steep side to me.
