Turned on main oven. Shortly after, the main circuit breaker tripped. When power restored the top and main oven had no power but all other elements including the grill were working. Any ideas regarding cause and how to repair? I have changed the main element before but symptoms suggest something else.

if this cooker has a clock have you set it after restoring power?
clock on auto will kill both ovens.

Thanks repman. I checked the manual and the clock on auto was mentioned. It looks like the clock is on auto when the power is switched on. When I tried the oven later it came on and I thought that a thermal cutout had reset itself. What I didn’t know was that my wife cancelled the auto setting on the timer and didn’t tell me! Will need to find what tripped the circuit breaker- it was probably coincidental that I turned on the oven just before it tripped. Wife now disappointed as she wanted a new cooker!

Now know what tripped the circuit breaker. Tested the oven for the first time today and discovered that the oven element has failed.
