I was having a chat earlier and the subject of trade shows came up and, it was asked, where’s the best trade show for appliance parts etc.?

The answer used to be Domotechnica but that looks to have been cancelled due to lack of interest.

Of course there’s IFA in Berlin in September, but that’s mostly finished goods and not a lot of parts.

There’s KBIS in LV/Chicago but that’s mostly finished goods as well.

Anyone know of any of them that cover components better than any of these?

    Hi Ken,

There was a trade show last year in Istanbul. We had booked to go, but it was during the month all of the dust from that volcano was disrupting air traffic. We made the decision to cancel. I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called, but will let you know if I can find out.

    Was it here Brian: http://www.cnrexpo.com/en_index.asp

Domotechnica Istanbul or Hometek, which now appears to be “Home at Best” organised by this crew:

If so, it doesn’t look to be all that well attended and I can’t get any details on who (if anyone) is going there next year.

All very confusing. Why couldn’t they all just stick to one show and be done with it?

    Ken,

Yes, I think it was the show as on your links.

And yes, I don’t think it was / will be well attended.

I went to the last Domotechnica in Cologne, it was small, few attended, and the majority of Whitegoods suppliers didnt bother with a stand, just met in the bars. If you did’nt know them, there was no way of spotting them! Majority of exhibitors were Chinese.
