ParticipantI am about at my wits end with the increasingly poor service offered by two of the largest trade spares suppliers. I have worked as a domestic appliance engineer for about thirteen years, and perhaps it is my imagination, but it seems to be getting harder and harder to get hold of parts.
I am currently in the middle of an emailing rally with one of my suppliers who is failing miserably to identify control modules for a Fagor induction hob and a Caple fridge freezer. This has been going on for about two weeks. Yesterday I diagnosed a failed control module on a Bosch SPV68L00GB/11 slimline dishwasher. One of my suppliers shows options for a programmed and unprogrammed board, which are both out of stock. Inputting the Bosch part number returns zero results, suggesting that there may be confusion over the correct part. My other supplier seems similarly befuddled. And today a knob for a Neff oven, £24 from Bosch, £20 net and out of stock from my supplier (the other supplier doesn’t even list it), and £18 from Ebay.co.uk where anyone can buy it.
Can anyone please recommend a really good supplier or are we all struggling with this nonsense?

Hi Andy,
When I submit a PNE, with notes, the notes are invariably ignored and the wrong part is specified. I really think that Connect are doing their best to redefine the word ‘technical’.

Buy Bosch/Neff/Siemens stuff directly from BSH and cut out the money grabbing, sticks in their mark up, useless middleman that Connect is.

Do BSH still do trade accounts. I used to have one years ago but I seem to think they stopped it for some reason and I’ve been left to fend for myself with the above offenders.

Hi Martin, I’m discovering that BSH is the way to go. Today however I enquired with them about a dishwasher PCB. Their answer, there may or may not be one in stock in the UK, and there are none in Germany. They wouldn’t be drawn on lead times.
Hi Grooster, BSH give you a ‘discount’ if you tell them you’re trade, ie they have factored in a discount for anyone canny enough – trade or not – to ask for one.

BSH have 1 programmed module in UK stock, part no 00659151, list price £127.23 + VAT, 15{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} trade discount by phone, free postage.
Connect in particular seem to be going for margin rather than volume in recent months, notably for Bosch, with many SRPs at silly money, way over list price.
It is now more important than ever to compare prices before buying.
