Has anybody ever scratched and been involved with repair of a travertine floor ,my colleague has scratched one when pulling out a range cooker and the bolt instead of the rubber foot that should have been there went straight through his blanket causing the damage ,three tiles scratched and a quote received today for £1600 to remove existing floor and replace 74 tiles :rolls: any advice gratefully received cheers Cras

Pass it to your PL insurers without any comment or acceptance of liability to the customer. They will then inspect and decide if refitting all 74 tiles is justified, it’s not down to you to argue the toss. 😉

Oooucch, pass it to insurance, then get a board from Hotpoint, can’t remember the part number for it, if not just go and buy a plastic board, dust sheets are useless, the boards help with movement as well.

Cheers ,two boards are carried on each van ,i am saying nothing :rolls: i have to work with him for some considerable time 🙂 we live and learn . I have been informed by a relative that owns a ceramic tile business that travertine can be sanded and resealed ,they also sell travertine repair kits ,he thinks its totally unnecessary to replace the whole floor for such a small area of damage .Cras
