    Hi Guys
    A bit of help would not go a miss please. Tricity Bendix AW1050 914789540/02. Machine fills on cycle then washes for about 5 mins then the timer steps round to stop. I have checked the ntc and element both ok Ohms wise. The element on earth leakage measures 70M ohms. Could this cause a problem for the timer to step to finish. I thought infinity was supposed to be the reading. . I am thinking the timer is at fault but at £90 i want to be sure.I also tried it on economy wash and it still steps round.

    Timer fault according to TDS SparkyP. Save a considerable sum and get a warranted recon from EMW.

    The repair guys will also test your timer for a small fee. 70 Meg is pretty good for heater insulation.

    have u checked the motor..this is a common fault on tricity/zanussi,s…
    to test..take an old/new motor and plug it in…should cure fault.

    Hi
    Had same fault taco magnet loose in motor, machine advanced to end of cycle and didn’t even serge.

    Hi Guys,
    Just to say thanks for the replies. Been back to customer today and it was the motor at fault. Replaced and now customer happy.

    Hi Guys,
    This one has come back and bit me in the backside. After fitting a new motor and checking the cycle thru till it stopped heating customer has been on the phone saying that the machine is playing up again (skipping around to stop position). Sureley it must be a timer fault?
    Customer is going to buy a new machine today. I tried to explain that was the best course of action in the first place.

    Not normally, they skip to the stop position when an error is detected, usually the tacho magnet has fallen off but as a new motor has been fitted it’s a bit of an odd one 😕

    does sound a bit of an odd one, these timers dont usualy click round apart from motor faults….if you can get more details please post..

    Hi Guys
    Here the feedback. Machine has been on test for 2 days using all cycles. Nothing wrong with the machine. The customer has gone out and bought a new machine and now wants a refund of the money i charged her. I told her to get another machine but she wanted it repaired. Now her son has told her what a fool she is and got another machine. Oh what lovely customers we do have. I will have to bite my tongue when i speak to her next.

    one of many reasons i went into paid employment sparky…

    once they make their mind up they will just butterfly from one fault to another……stick to your guns on this one and offer no refund…
