tricity bendix biw 1000w not starting

hi all , im looking at this washing machine it takes in water and then stops , when put on a drain cycle ,it will drain but wont do anything else , owner sayes it wont do a spin either , i hear clicking every 10 seconds or so from the timer module , i removed the 3 block connectors from the timer pcb (power off ) plugged in the machine , started a cycle and off she went no problem any suggestions , another thing how do you remove the screws holding the brush assembly to the motor ? i tried a 6mm a 7mm a 1/4 socket none would grip the bolt head

Brushes are the starting point – you’ll need a 5.5mm socket.

that did the trick penguin 5.5 mm socket and new brushes cheers
