I avoid dishwasher jobs as much as I can so I don’t do many but I went to this one today. Symptom: not filling but you could hear the wash pump going. I connected the meter to the inlet valve terminals to check if it was getting 240 V. No volts there so it was not a diaphragm cutout problem. I poured some water into the machine with a watering can. When now switched to the start of a wash the water pumped out and refilled normally. Now the machine seems to be working OK. This model has a simple pressure vessel built into the side tank and a pressure switch which carries the heater current. My theory is that the heater load caused the pressure switch contacts to partly weld together and re-pressurising the switch with my manual filling caused them to release. Should I fit a new pressure switch or just pronounce the machine to be in A1 health?

Could be pressure switch contact jammed not seen it on these ones myself more likely the iwms (the big side tank) is getting sludged up or the plastic tube from the iwms to the sump (bottom front) usually get a stale musty smell inside if the bottom hose is blocking up.

Replacement level switch is 1529900-60/5 – £12.46 list, so cheap enough – trouble is job’s now a two hitter. Will you make enough if you have to go back?

Have ordered the pressure switch so at least I will be able to rip the old one apart and check for burnt contacts.
