We have a tricity Bendix TB112FF which is 3 and a half years old. The fridge is stuck at 10 degrees and the freezer is about 4 degrees. It is a frost free and used to make a lot of noise (I think when defrosting) but it no longer does this.

I spoke to an engineer this morning who said he didn’t fix frost free appliances but that it sounded like an expensive job and that it might cost as much to fix as to replace, and recommended contacting the manufacturers own service engineers. I have done this but I am reluctant to pay their call out fee if we would be better off just buying a new one.

Would be really grateful for advice on whether this is likely to be a major and expensive problem or not. Thank you.

As this unit is frost free, try a total defrost (power off, doors open etc) for 48 hours and see what happens 🙂

Apart from that it’s engineer time to be honest, try here Repairs@ for an Independent

    Dave.
