KeymasterHi,
My oven door has two plastic brackets glued to the bottom of the outer glass door that hook on to a fitting on the inner door. After my wife cleaned the cooker they fell off, but I can’t find a suitable glue to stick them back on again. The black plastic brackets seem to have a whiteish way plastic material backing. Any ideas please?October 26, 2004 at 7:39 am #118720Martin

Give us the model number of the oven then we can look up what you may need to fix it 😉

The recommended repair would be to replace the outer door glass which comes complete with the brackets pre-glued, it is £64.33 inc VAT.
You can however buy the high temperature glue which can be used to re-glue various cooker manufacturers doors/glass panels etc for £10 a tube.
If you want either, drop me an email and I’ll sort for you.
Dave.

Thanks for that Dave,
I’d like to try the glue. If you let me know how to get it, that would be great. I tried a 150 deg.C Araldite but it did not stick to the glass.John

Ok thanks John.
Let it cure for 12 hours before refitting the door glass 😉

I was interested to see this correspondence – the door brackets fell off my Tricity Bendix oven last night! It’s a different model (BS612/2B), but presumably it’s a matter of a new door or some glue as you said previously. Any idea how much a new door would be, and where I can get it? (It’s brown).

The outer door glass with the brackets attached is £65.61 inc VAT and postage or you can re-glue them as above, the same advice applies.
I can supply either for you.
Dave.

Thanks for all the help – the glue arrived really quickly and worked a treat and the oven’s back in action.
