ParticipantGood morning all,
Could anyone assist with the wiring connections for the above oven thermostat?
I’m renewing a faulty thermostat unit for a customer, and having a little difficulty with the wiring connections.
The original thermostat has five used connections; Numbers 2 & 6 and three letters F,G, & H2 (violet) enters the wiring, and travels to earth
6 (yellow) connects to the clock (timer)
F (twin red) connects to the timer (1off) and via the loom to the motor (1off)
G (white) via loom to element
H (black) to neonThe new thermostat simply has A, B & C terminals, (A single, B&C two terminals each) with a seperate single earth terminal.
With the replacement thermostat supplied by Qualtex, the instructions for re-wiring are rather vague/confusing.
I have contacted Tricity-Bendix, who “will not provide technical information.”
Hopefully, someone can help me with this!

Hiya,
Can you scan and email the instructions you received to me?
Alternatively if you explain what the instructions say I’ll try to work it out with the wiring diagrams. Thanks

Hello Brian,
Sorry, don’t have facility for scanning.
The wiring instructions refer to replacing “Diamond H” thermostsat type ET46TH with Type ET51There is a choice of four appliance types to select the type of oven:
1. Built-in oven.
2. Splashback appliance with timer.
3. Free-standing with timer.
4. Free-standing without timer.I reckon its a free-standing oven with timer, although, as I’m fairly new to this business could it be classed as a splashback appliance?
The instructions are as follows:
Splashback appliance:
Remove connection (double tag) from F and connect to C on new stat, then cut off small link (2a to timer)
Remove connection from 2 and connect to 2a
Remove connection from 6 and connect to A on new stat.
Remove connection from G/H and connect to B on new stat.Free-standing with timer:
Remove connection (double tag) from 5 (timer) and connect to C on new stat, then cut off small link F
Remove connection from 2 and connect to timer (5)
Remove connection from 6and connect to A on new stat.
Remove connection from 6 and connect to A on new stat.
Remove connection from G/H and connect to B on new stat.Free-standing w/out timer:
Remove connection 2 and connect to A on new stat.
Remove connection F and connect to B on new stat.
Remove connection G/H and connect to C
Link from G/H to 6 remove or sever.Hope you can shed some light on this.
Kind regards,
Jontymox

Hiya,
Use this changeover from the list you posted.Splashback appliance:
Remove connection (double tag) from F and connect to C on new stat, then cut off small link (2a to timer)
Remove connection from 2 and connect to 2a
Remove connection from 6 and connect to A on new stat.
Remove connection from G/H and connect to B on new stat.If you would like the original wiring diagram to help you, pm your email address to me and I’ll send it to you.
You’ll find the instructions make a bit more sense then.Brian
