ParticipantHi everyone. First a quick thank you to all the mods and hosts of this site who help consumers like me out.
Our integrated Tricity Bendix Washer Dryer 1200 model BW650 Serial number 81400114 is poorly. It is plus 10 years old (was in the house when we moved in). Today it seems to have lost ability to spin drum – has a go, goes mental then gives up and then goes through the program (ie the program selector wheels moves on) very quickly leaving a pile of wet, detergent rich washing 🙁
I suspect it was overloaded, often bangs around as wife stuffs too much in it. No idea if this fault is relevant?:

I appreciate this is an old model, if it is repairable for say £150, is it worth spending it on a model this old, or would you say count yourself lucky to have had 10 years trouble free service and buy a new one? I guess I am asking if the BW650 is a solid machine that is worth spending money on, if repairable. It will also depend on how much it is going to cost to get an engineer out to London E7 to check it out.
If not worth repairing, or not repairable, am reading up on the ISE10 but a) it is washer only (think we can manage, wife only uses the drier in an emergency) and b) is not integrated (but looks quite clean with the door panel).
Any comments gratefully received. Cheers, Sean.

Your symptoms match thos of the article. The end of the motor is accessible (just) if you remove the lower cover plate. Remove the plug as well, of course.

Thank you for super quick reply!
I am worse than useless so have contacted an engineer and will see what they say.

Ron of Ron’s Repairers (a recommended repairer on this site) has just been round, not bad bearing in mind he was only contacted yesterday!
Thankfully a) it was the fault suspected on this thread and nothing more terminal and b) the bit he needed to fix it was still here and not lost anywhere. Ron did his stuff and ran it through all the different spin cycles to check ok.
Highly recommend Ron to anyone within reasonable travelling distance of Romford in need of a washer repair. Had a good chat about the ISE10 and the guys involved with it and I have a brochure too for when the Tricity Bendix does give up the ghost.Cheers.
