ParticipantHi guys im a bit stumped on this one..
went out to tbe tricity bendix washer dryer and simple belt had slipped from the dryer fan, went back on no problems, their is no heat presernt on the dryer side? obviously tested the usual, the reset thermostat is closed circuit, theirs another thermostat that has a bigger body similar to the old type thermostat that is also closed circuit, the dryer element is fine on both(twin) ….
??? normally with no air flow the rest stat would be open but its fine?
any ideas?

Thermistor in the bottom hose – wires broken off? These wires are always too tight through the zip ties – cut ties off to gain slack.
The “stat” at the front of the heater plenum (closest to control panel) is a thermal limiter so that should be N/C, Safety stat with reset (red) button between tags should be N/C……Hope that helps!

Thanks Steve…. yes both safety red and thermal limiter stat are closed so their fine.
i think i remember having a problem with a thermistor at the bottom once, am i right in thinking its the one with access at the base of the machine access by splitting the cabinet? i can’t remember if you can gain access by leaning back the machine and getting under… might be would it be worth taking a replacement thermistor along maybe…
thanks again steve

You can pull – test the wiring at arms length and you could probably just about get to it from underneath, but it would be much easier to split the cabinet. Also if fitting a new thermistor, they have to ‘clip in’ to the grommet style hole in the lower hose; not easy from underneath – tried it!

ok an update, went back on the job today and checked the wiring on the bottom thermistor on the hose and replaced it anyway.
just to clarify standing from the front looking at the top of the machine their are 3 stats.
the red rest stat is fine.
in close proximity to the reset stat is another bigger stat and also is closed ok and finethe third stat that is positioned closer to the front of the machine that sits on the top of the air inlet that goes to the top of the door seal is open? its a bigger circular stat.
so the clarify this stat is open circuit. should this be N/O normally open.should all 3 stats that are on the top of the machine be closed?
thanks again
