tb200 i think
everything tests out fine and putting on the rings works
turn them off put on the oven and grill fine
put on everything except one item at random fine
turn on the final item count to about 20 pop rcd blows
i have told the fella his fuse box must be faulty does this sound about right i have not seen it before and like i say cooker all tests ok just under heavy load 😕
couldnt say just an old 80’s sorta style box and when he has all the hob grill and oven on it just flicks down the lever marked cooker
little update as well guy has just rung and told me that his cooker switch in the kitchen on his wall no longer has a red light on it so the cooker is totally dead
i told him to wait for the sparky to come and check his box out as i now think it is definatly that
i just want to make sure i am not missing anything and that i am armed with all the relevant info
btw what is the difference between and rcd and an rcbo?
i never heard rcbo b4 or am i being dense: 😳
It sounds like the cooker is overloading the cooker circuit.
This guy appears to have an MCB (Miniature circuit breaker.), Works just like a fuse, but with a switch.
Then we have an RCD, this protects a group of MCB’s from Earth leakage, such as cutting through the wire with a lawnmower! An RCD doesn’t protect for overload, you can identify an RCD by the ‘TEST’ button on it.
