Araldite is epoxy though I’ve never used it for tub repairs. I tend to cut off a non essential bit of the plastic to use as filler material which I weld on with the soldering iron. I then cover the area with a thick layer of silicone sealer.

    Re: tub repair

I once had a putty plug jump out of the hole it was plugging. Even though it was a small hole at the top of the (plastic) drum, water leaked out and got into the motor. Since then I have used bits of old plastic drum lined with silicone/instant gasket/debor and bolted in position with stainless bolts. Or grommets with debor for very small holes.
Having read this thread though I think I’ll pop out and get myself a mini gas soldering iron (and a breathing mask).

I will try to get Milliput,it sounds same as qualtex. It makes plastic stronger than original.Used it loads of times on washers and would not dare repair a drum and then sell a machine on.
