Tumble dryer exhaust stats

Had 2 today.
1. A whirlpool AWZ650 857565015003 with faulty exhaust stat. Customer has seen on watchdog tumble dryers catching fire. Is this one of the causes? If so is there a modified part? No i have got off comet website is 481228208008. Is this correct?

2. O/C exhaust stat on Zanussi TD4212W PNC 916092302/00. My first. Found it eventually, O/C. What is the part no of replacement. And do you have to have a small head to work inside drum 😮 .

4812 282 08008 is the exhaust stat for the AWZ650 (£23.18 😯 )- I’ve never needed one myself – unlikely to be a problem in itself. Heater plate ones go all the time – lots of charcoal 😀 .

1258406-10/5 is the one for the Zanussi – about £10, again, never needed one.

Thanks for info Chris. Have also seen them go on the 2 year old whirlpool vented dryers as well. Not had one yet on the older models though.

Hi Simon,
Just to put your mind at rest it is not the AWZ650 but the AWZ630/3 that your customer was refering to on watchdog. I do believe that there was a problem with the wires on the timer starting to melt and in some severe cases catching fire. I have some exhaust stats in stock. Give me a pm if you need one.
