Clothes are getting jammed between the front of the drum and the support which results in oil stains on the clothes.

Three of the four front bearing pads appear to be missing. If I lift the drum it moves up which suggests to me that it’s not seated correctly at the front.

I suspect that the front bearing felt has worn out but it’s not listed for my model.

So, should I buy 3 (or 4?) bearing pads (C00095534) at £5.22 each or should I buy a front drum support (1701159) at £41.72 which I think includes a set of 4 bearing pads?

Alternatively, should I dismantle the dryer first to try and get a better idea of what’s broken?

Incidentally, it’s not noticeably noisy so I think the (main / rear?) bearings are OK.

    It’s a Hotpoint TDC62N serial 12100217 which is about 10 years old.

Any suggestions as to what to do would be welcome! Mike

The most sensible idea being as it’s 10 years old and just one street short of the knackers yard. 😉
