WE HAVE A TUMBLE DRYER THAT APPEARS TO BE ON THE BLINK !
WHEN CLOSING THE DOOR IT MAKES THE NOISE AS IF ITS WORKING BUT THE DRUM REMAINS STILL ??
HELP I AM LOST WITHOUT IT !

sounds like a capacitor problem, open the door and spin the drum while the drum is moving close the door, it should continue to move. If that happens you need to replace the capacitor. Call an engineer as there are different sizes and it is important to fit the right one

I have deleted your other post, please keep it to one post per subject, it gets very messy if you post the same question in two forums at the same time.
It could be the belt, or the capacitor. You would have to remove the top after you have isolated the machine from the mains to check if the belt is still around the drum or not. Fitting belts to dryers is not the easiest thing in the world though.

hi yes thanks for that i did it after i realised there was a specific forum for tumble driers – as you can see i only visit this site prob once a year so not very up to date with its workings !! sorry – i will try taking it to bits tonight -!!! thanks again

can you recommend an enginger for my area in doncaster ??? that wont rip me off !!
