    Hi all, new member here!

Me and my partner are moving into our first home in a couple of weeks, we recently ordered our washing machine which is this one: https://media.ao.com/en-GB/Productimages/Images/rvLarge/haier_hw70-b12636_wh_01_l.jpg

and now we would like to order our tumble dryer, due to the design of the kitchen and it’s placement in the house it must be a condenser dryer.

we would like one that is of similar design to the washer (white shell, black door) and ideally we’re looking to spend up to £250

if anyone knows of any then please let us know.

    many thanks

There are a couple of Beko’s with large round white doors or you will need to increase the budget and look at the Hotpoint condensers which do have black doors.

Are you at all familiar with the “Amica” brand?
I cant say its one I’ve ever heard of but I found this one for £270

They are as good as some of the other brands in their price sector. Manufacturer information here products have a two year warranty in the main and are reasonably priced.

    Hi Aaron,

There are lots of brands to choose from and a lot of prices too – which kinda gives you a bit of a brain overload right?

The thing to question is whether you are wanting a vented or unvented machine first… If vented, then the majority of machines are very similar and you shouldn’t need to pay more than £200 for one.

If unvented, there is another question…

Have you heard of heat-pump vs condenser? A condenser is your ‘basic’ which has a water tank that needs emptying every so often – looking at £200+. A heat-pump is the same as a condenser, but it ‘recycles’ the heat created which means these new ones use less energy than your fridge! Which kinda puts the rest the high energy bills disadvantage of having a dryer. The only issue is, the price… The technology is fairly new, so you will be looking at £500+. But there is a Beko model which is around £300, but it is really hard to get it in stock (with the price being so good).

    Anyway, hope we helped 🙂

There is a fully comprehensive article on Heat Pump Dryers in the excellent Help & Advice pages which can be found at the top of our home page. As you will see the first article was written over 4 years ago so the technology is not as you say ‘fairly new’. A thorough read of our article will highlight the fact that the high price is not the only issue with heat pump dryers.

Hopefully Aaron will by now have taken the advice of the long standing ‘trade’ member who has taken the trouble to reply, Don has been on the retail side of domestic white goods for 30 years or more as well as running a repair business. 😉
