There is a new thread on the public side of the site asking about fitting stretch belt on creda dryers.

I’m not happy posting this on the public site, but the answer is to take off the right hand side panel off the machine for access, remove the self tapping screws that retain the motor mount to the base, fit the belt over the motor shaft and then refit the motor with LONG screws. Tightening the screws pulls the belt tight. I have done dozens that way

No, we can’t tell then blow-by-blow how to do it, if nothing else it could do us out a job! 🙂

Best just to leave them to their own devices at times and to call in someone that knows what they’re doing especially when, as seems the case here, the guy doesn’t have the skill to do it.

the worry isn’t so much the one you help in the first instance, it’s the 700th person that reads it, has a go and subsequently injures themselves. That’s why we try not to go too far with the info and keep it in “broad strokes”.

3/8th drive 13mm deep socket and long extension does the job for me, and it’s in my tool box already.
