I have a filter LED lit on the font panel but not sure as to the reason. Any assistance out there ?

you’ll probly find that the dryer is not heating up and probly needs an heating element assy. if you’re not sure of your abilities check out repairs@ or pop up your postcode in here for a local engineer

On removing the back plate last night, I checked the heater assy fuse with a multimeter and found it fully ‘S’. But I found the male spade connector Open Circuit. There is 231 VAC accross the fuse but on only side of the connector. On removing the connector, it seems this only serves to connect the supply across the element and therefore, providing the element is still intact, believe both leads can be connected together directly without any problems. Any thoughts ?

Kev,

If the thermostat on the element box is OK and the Microtemp within the element box is also OK and yet you are getting power to the element then the flood safety switch has probably tripped. 💡

Time to take the machine apart to get to it though 🙁

I must admit that I forgot to check the element itself last night. Where is the Flood Safety Switch located please ❓ I am responsible for another TV630 with a noisy drum problem 😥 and therefore know how difficult it is to get the thing apart – especially the front off (again last night) to get to the ‘ gubbins’ inside to investigate this latest fault further. Please advise. 😯

Sorry Kevin, just realised that the TV630 is a vented dryer (I was thinking that it was a Condenser dryer for a minute 😳 ), and therefore does not have a float switch. So it most likely is the Microtemp within the element box that’s gone. (see the other posts on that subject too as Clyde suggests)

When you say the microtemp… you mean the round, fuse like sensor ? If so, this is short circuit as seems fine. Providing the element coils are Serv, I presume you do not recommend that the ‘ wing ‘ shaped spade connector is removed from circuit ?

The microtemp should show minimal resistance when bridged with the test meter. If your meter shows 30 ohms or more, you are getting a back reading through the heater circuit and the microtemp has failed.
