Had a quick look at this whilst replacing the brushes on customers Bosch washer.

Rear bearing is perfect, belt fine, motor runs smoothly, drum not binding. It has the two piece metal fan at the back which ‘appears’ to be sound and not catching anywhere.

Set it on and after a couple of seconds there is a loud vibrating noise that seems to come from the rear.

Can’t say that I have heard this exact type of noise before, anyone had such a noise from the fan on these?

    Jim.

Sound like fan is not a tight fit on the spindle maybe?

It’s not the usual, plastic fan though. It is the old style, two piece metal fan secured by the small bolts used on the earlier dryers for many years, motor appears solid enough.

May try and remove the fan completely and run it like that for a short while.
