Can we (UKW) not contact Watchdog about this on behalf of our engineers ? … We might even get some publicity for the site out of it as well as giving even more support to them ?

    Re: ufindus.com

I had another cold calling yesterday from Ufindus, when he asked “have you heard of us?” I replied….” funnily enough I am sat at my computer and on Google I’ve just typed problems with ufindus, if you are anywhere near your computer I suggest you do the same?”…………. a short silence followed then I heard him say “bo££ocks” and slammed the phone down :rotfl:

    Re: ufindus.com

Hi all, this is my first post in UK Whitegoods. I’m a self-employed plumber.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread but it certainly seems that Ufindus are an ongoing problem.

My first contact with them was soon after I started trading just under a year ago. Fortunately I was a member of the Screwfix Talk forums and had already seen some posts about them. Even if I hadn’t I’m deeply cynical of such companies and always check them out before committing to any transaction that involves money going in the wrong direction.

To cut a long story short I told them never to call me again. Since then I’ve repeatedly told them never to call me again and that I will never do business with them so there is absolutely no point in them calling me. Do they listen? Fat chance. I get fed up of answering the ‘phone to them when I’m stuck under someone’s bath or up to my neck in tile adhesive. I can’t just ignore ‘private’ numbers as I may be ignoring a call from a customer!

All my numbers are registered with the Telephone Preference Service and I’m waiting for an answer, from them, on whether or not a prosecution might be possible. I certainly hope so.

    Re: ufindus.com

I have the same problem, we too are with the tps but we still get weekly calls from ufindus we have neer signed a contract or even given them time to do a verbal one most calls start with them asking my staff to put me on the phone then telling me it is an urgent business matter or that someone wants 5 washers to buy or something when i ind out who it is i ask them, plead with them not to call again to put me on there do not call list..
and virtually every time all i get in response is fuck off or mardy bastard
    or wanker or just abuse.
what kind of company rings YOU to disturdb YOU then insults YOU.
i reallly dont care how many people lose there jobs but this firm should be closed.

I’ve just added Plumbing Register to my blacklist. They’re part of the Iomart group and, on their web site, claim to be ‘powered by ufindus.com’.

    Dragging this to the top.

I had a run in with these guys and have come off pretty well eventually.

Basically I fell for the thing as I was very busy at the time and thought I had nothing to lose so just agreed and got the wife to pay on her cc etc. Big mistake ofc.

To cut a long story short, once I realised the situation I went for the throat and threatened them with legal action as well as publicity and not only ended up with a full refund and withdrawal of any verbal contract, but the website they’ve created (crap ofc but hey!) is still up. On top of that the 0845 diverted calls are still working as well. Tbh I only get the odd call from them but it makes me smile that they’re the one’s who are paying 🙂

Short advice, if you are in these peoples grip then play tough, it seems to work.
