Do they have a contract ?
It looks just like a free listing site to me 😕

This was a verbal contact over the phone, but apparentley this is binding
if it is buisness to buisness. When I looked on the interenet I found many complaints about them.I now find there is no cooling off period either.May 23, 2006 at 12:23 pm #177347Dave_Conway

Hmm, there’s certainly a lot of complaints about them 🙁
So, they offer an enhanced listing and charge extra for it even though a customer would still find you from the free listings which they obviously get from BT as I am listed on there with a non-advertised number and they have never made contact.
The only hope really is if they have misrepresented their services or overcharged.
What are the dealings so far ?
Dave.

ParticipantSo far they have only charged what they said they would
but there are many warnings on blagger.com
where they have taken unauthorised amounts.
The website they set up is rubbish and there are no links to it when the name of the main city where I work is put into google along with appliance repairs etc. even though they said this would be available.I would not have agreed if I had known this would happen.May 23, 2006 at 6:55 pm #177351Martin

ufindus.com are no strangers to the Advertising Standards Authority either (latest adjudication August 2005)
Link below is a PDF file from ASA : –All these service directories companies are best avoided to be honest. 🙄
servicewanted.com 118trades.com to name 2 others best given a wide berth I reckon, complete rip off merchants IMHO 👿

Pleased to see I’m not alone having problems with “U-BIND-US”
Have so far got agreement to waive any future monthly payments, but no reimbursement on initial payment.
Most galling thing was the complete pack of lies told to get the contract.– Were told that our company would appear when a search was made, where the sponsored link appears on google, when actually ufindus appears.
– Were told and confirmed that we would be able to cancel as we were cold called, and that there was a ‘cooling off’ period.
– Were told that amending art work would be free.
– Were told that the web site was ours for life after initial payment.
– and so on….All of which was a pack of lies.
When we requested them to find the conversation which was “recorded for our security” it could not be found. Strange… and so the saga continues. simtoms. 🙄May 24, 2006 at 7:21 pm #177353simtoms

Should have mentioned that trading standards advised us to nail them for “misrepresentation”, which we quoted in our letter to them.

I got a sales call from this company a few months ago. Instead of the usual ‘can i speak to the owner of the company?’ his initial approach rather threw me. ‘Hi, ive got 15 washing machines which need repairing in Carlisle, can you help me?’ To which anybody would answer yes, with the money signs rolling in my eyes.
Before he could carry on with his sales patter I asked him to give me the addresses of the broken machines. Alarm went off. Yep, well two can play at that game I thought. I made him talk in great detail about the company and products showing great interest. He was on the phone for about 30 minutes when I asked him ‘So, whats it like being a loser on 10K a year then?’ He told me to **** off and ended the call.
Funny but the details never did come in the post!May 24, 2006 at 9:16 pm #177355grumpy
ParticipantI have been in contact with citizens advice again today, they are as enraged about this type of rip off company as I am,and are going to assist me if I get any hassle from them, now that I am trying to cancel the so called contract.Trading standards were not much help, just said I was stupid to not put the phone down in the first place, but I used to be too polite to do that, but not any more.I am off on holiday for 2 weeks on friday but wont be able to relax with this ongoing situation but its good to read comments from other engineers.I dont feel so isolated now

OK, who’s up for moving this thread to the public forums, that way Google will index it and more people will see the downside of such companies ?
I can email them asking for comment as well as that way they can read it themselves 😉
