ParticipantHi any pointers appreciated. Got a Hotpoint built under oven UHS53X. When you select grill fan comes on but no neon and no power to the grill element. If you select top oven on a different control the element comes on.
I’ve changed the energy regulator but still the same 😳 so I’m thinking there’s a possible stat causing it, but would of thought the top oven wouldn’t work if that’s the case.
large toc in center Closed circuit small toc by the fan open circuit at room temp.
Please help!!!!!!!!January 17, 2018 at 4:32 pm #453207electrofix

Looks like there’s a microswitch on the grill door. I would check that Al

Hi Alster, thanks for your advice. I noticed on the parts list there is a grill/door switch but when I went out to the oven there is no visible switch on the top oven/Grill. There is one on the bottom oven.
Am I missing something. ThanksJanuary 17, 2018 at 5:15 pm #453210rolf

Hi Dave had a quick look but didn’t pay much attention to it. Is there something I should of been looking at.

since it uses the same elements. that switch changes them over from oven to grill so your looking for contacts that are either burnt out or just don’t quite make it. There will prob be a wire from that switch to live in on the grill regulator. if so check that contact first

Emmm food for thought. I did have a quick look over the contacts and there was nothing obvious burnt out but I guess it could be something more subtle. I’m going to try and get back out there and have another gander.
Thank you for your advice Dave.January 31, 2018 at 6:01 pm #453213rolf
