KeymasterI think it’s only fitting that this is discussed in here where we can have a bit of a laugh over it and then just announce the decision in the normal forums.
The intent is to hold the February meeting at the end of February 06 around Brum somewhere, it’s central and easy to get to. Apart from which we can get decent rates in the area as there’s plenty of them, increased competition. Plus it’s obvious to anyone at Sibson the last two times that we have totally outgrown that venue.
So anyways, we found a place in Solihull, not exciting I know, but at least it’s very cheap. Needs checked out though to see if it’s okay.
But I have one very distinct reservation on this venue is that, along with a three course evening meal for £15, there is live entertainment. A belly dancer.
Then I thought about a certain cameraman, lots of booze, Minstrels and got very, very frightened of the possible outcomes.
But anyway, does that sort of area sound okay?

I suppose I’ll have to volunter to recce the place seeing as I used to date a tart(can I say that?) who did belly dancing. Sorry, don’t mean to mis- lead anyone by the term date, in my day you at least learned her name 1st……….
Lets not go any further with that, it was a long time ago, before goatboy was even thought of.
However, if any one else has experience of belly dancers, before you post make sure the wife can’t see what you post.
There’s some cracking subjects recently…..although I’ve never heard a Bar b q “crack”Kevin

Right, sorted. Executive decision taken to save a lot of arsing about.
We’re going to the Birmingham NEC. Okay, not quite a hall but the Holiday Inn Express at teh NEC. 😉
Excellent road, rail and air links for everyone, decent sized room (much bigger than Sibson) and decent grub/bar and accomodation.
The room rate is £69 per night, but we’re going to try to obviously get a better rate given that we will be block booking 30 rooms on the Thursday night and 50 on the Friday night. Unless demand exceeds that anyone late will have to look at other hotels in the area and, this is one busy hotel we’ve been warned. Especially if there’s something on at the NEC that weekend.
So, to that end the subscribers are getting first bite at the rooms for both nights here.
If you want a room, for either or both nights, please email David at dquinn@ukwhitegoods.co.uk or PM him (dquinn) to book what you require and we’ll sort it from there. All of this is being dealt with by David.

Perhaps Bryan can bring his little brother Ian from Penn Domestics along to this one. It’ll be right on his doorstep. I just happened to bump into him on my UKW travels. He may even help him to steady his tripod, though it looked more like a quadpod while our beloved Bryan was takin’ his snapshots 😆
I dare say i’ll see the rest of you guys proppin’ up ther bar as usuall 😉Sean

Not so much the weekend but on the Thursday there is an X Factor 🙄 audition day at the NEC which will cause a mass of traffic no doubt. Please allow for this if you’re coming on Thursday 🙂
