Customer : “You called last week (fitted a new heater in fact 😉 ) and now I’m getting rust marks on my washing!”
My reply: “Sorry to hear that, if I call back in the morning can you keep the washload you did so I can check it out?”
Customer: “Well it’s only affected 2 T shirts the rest are OK and have been put away.”Anyway, I did call back this morning and take a gander at the T shirts. Sure enough they both had obvious rust marks on them. Started looking carefully at the machine, couldn’t figure it at all? Asked if she perhaps put them in the tumble dryer? She told me she doesn’t have one.
When I asked how she managed to dry them after washing? And she mentioned that she always uses the radiators during the winter (washing line in the summer)……..?:wink:
I remembered the bit in the UKW Laundry Guide about ‘rusty radiators’ (Page 23 in fact) and sure enough the rad in her hallway looked great from the front but behind it was rusted to hell!!!! 😯
I gave her a complimentary copy of the UKW Laundry Guide and left one chuffed and slightly embarrassed customer with her rusty radiator and my pride intact! 8)
