ParticipantCan someone explain to me why, if I type in
into the search box (all available forums) it returns, “no topic met your search criteria”. If I type exactly the same thing into Goggle it returns hits in which, high on the list, come answers from UKW. If this is a general problem it may be causing trade and public to post more queries here than would otherwise be necessary. (Hmm. maybe it’s a ruse to get the post numbers up and create a bigger database?)
I think I’m going to use Goggle more in future.

‘awm8123 AND fault’ will produce results.
FH is only two letters and will not work.

Thanks Chris. If it works in Google can’t it be made to work here?

‘Cos it just doesn’t, that’s why…….
Which is also why I spent a happy Sunday some months back typing “Lucky Goldstar” into every LG thread for the last 2 years in order to give everyone something to actually search for – LG doesn’t work.

I go on quite a few different forums, most of them will need three letters or more in their search engine, just depends on the forum software.
Sly dig to KW, I think you can use less than three letters on V Bulletin. 😉

OK. Is there something wrong with my computer 😕 . Just now I did a search for (making sure all words were four letters or more) and got the no topics message again (all available forums).
I’m pretty sure this is the first search I’ve done here since Weds.
Same into Google and up pops a hit from UKW!

If you had entered a full model number you would have got two hits on here.
Try…ADP8322 AND hose AND clips…. in that exact format with the uppercase AND but no other punctuation.

Yes, that works. Thanks Jim. Must remember to put AND between every word from now on. Or maybe just open another tab and use Google.

Ah, but then you would get the real experts at diy.not com and howtofixit.com first. 😆

‘sex AND travel’ …….. 😀
Actually, you could just use ‘goldstar AND …..’ to generate results. It’s a but clunky, but it does work.
