I think the general thoughts of people is:
‘who cares about me?’
So they simply don’t bother,
It’s either that or they can’t be arsed! :rolls:

Hi
Mainly people don’t want or need to be identified in fear of repercussions if they post something that doesn’t seat to well with their work provider or employer etc.
Thats the trade consensus anyway. As for Joe Bloggs, probably as you suggested Macmini 😀Greg

KeymasterGreg is totally correct.
User anonimity is something that I am very strong on if people want to remain anonymous. Time and again it has proven its worth in certain cirumstances.

I agree with anonimity with regards employees but how many members are freelance. My opinion is stand up and be counted is this world, life is short. OK you may make an arse of yourself occasionally but who cares it just adds up to the tapestry of life :rolls: 😳
Why hide your profile, most individuals is this business go to great lengths and expence advertising their business 😕
I presume that unless the individual displays his or hers personel info then only the moderators know their full details in the fisrt place.
By the way Macmini “we care about you” 😉

KeymasterI agree Mal, but the choice has to be left to the individiual and there are quite a few manufacturers, insurers and WP’s that mask their identity as well as having multiple employees using a single account and stuff like that. Some of who would likely surprise you.
Behaviour like that only really creates an atmosphere of fear and the assumption that we’re being spied upon.
Even apart from that many of the repairers that work for these people do want to remain hidden and, frankly, in some cases I can’t blame them one bit.

Hi Ken
When you explain it like that some of it makes sense. 😕 😉
As a matter of interest what percentage of the membership prefer to remain “hidden” from big brother ❓

KeymasterI have no idea of a percentage of repairers that still remain concealed TBH.
Manufacturers etc., a very high percentage remain hidden.

Hi Guys,
As you maybe aware, I haven’t put my profile in and for good reason.
I work for one of the manufacturers, those in admin know who it is and you may be able to work it out from some of my “posts”
We were told in no uncertain terms by management that any activity here would lead to deciplinary action if we were found out. 🙁
We ARE being watched by the big boys, management even named certain users on UKWG! 😯
As I say, I joined after the ‘Warning’ out of curiosity 😈
Its been 12 years in the trade for me this year, I left school at 15 and have done nothing but whitegoods since, like many other users here, its our life, work and social scene, perhaps the companys should appreciate that?? There are far far worse things we could be involved in than a work related forum!
We are all adding to each others knowledge and understanding amongst the trade.
LONG LIVE UKWG! 😀

They’re not still looking for the van, are they? 😀
I have no issue with profiles or lack of them – you soon get a feel for the regular posters anyway.

I thougt you’d like that one 😆
I had an offer to have my drive tarmac’d too :rotfl:
Lets face it, as for NSH a company that treated its employee’s and customers like that deserved anything they got, i’m sure you’d agree? Best part off it was all legal and above board 😉
