Unable to find model number or fit decor door.

Hi all, I hope someone can help me on this. I just picked up an integrated Whirlpool under-counter freezer on eBay. Excellent ex-demo condition apart from the fixings to mount the decor/furniture door to the front.

I’d love to ask by model number but I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find an ident plate or number.

The door has four raised metal “buttons” (two each side at the top front) which look like they accept some sort of slot on hook. There are also two brass-insert threaded holes at the top and two more at the bottom of the opening side of the door. The hinges seem to swing in a manner that allows a decor door to be mounted directly without an additional cabinet carcass. This would also seem to be the case as the freezer is exactly 600mm wide, thus being the same size as a base unit.

So, can anyone give me some hints on how to fit a door please?

TBH Andy, without the model at least, the 12NC in some cases and the template to mount the fixings to the door you may be on a hiding to nothing here.

Ta for that, but it seems that’s a slider door system. I’ve now figured out that this is, as I originally thought, a door-on-door mounting whereby the decor/furniture door is fitted directly onto the freezer door. The threaded holes (opposite side to the hinges) are simply mounting points should you switch the opening direction. The top “buttons” seem to be threaded adjusters to set the depth of the gap between the doors. The lower “buttons” are just pushed in (not threaded) and can be turned through a slot in the back of their shaft (the holes passes right through the door and can be accessed from inside by pulling back the door seal).

If no-one recognises this fitting system then I may have to resort to a tube of Gripfill, not very cultured but functional 🙂

If the door is meant to move by sliding and, it doesn’t, then it will catch on the cupboard wall or the adjacent door… not recommended. 😉

It’s supposed to be a straight fit onto the door. I’ve held a piece of board on the front at the edge as I’ve opened the freezer door. Very clever hinge movement, the door moves sideways as it starts to swing out and then tucks back in as it reaches fully open, thus avoiding the cabinet doors adjacent to the freezer.
