ParticipantHi,
I’m looking to replace my existing built in oven. I don’t know how old it is but the dimensions are (mm) HxWxD 545x450x?600. It’s an old Neff oven. Can’t find anything on the market that even vaguely resembles this. Any help?October 1, 2013 at 7:59 am #402107admin

Hi
Virtually any of the standard built in ovens will fit into your space.

At 450mm wide? Can you show me an example, because I haven’t seen one yet?

Hi
Thought that you had mis measured,Is that the size of the hole or of the actual appliance ?

That’s the size of the hole.

Is that on a boat then? There’s no such thing as a 450mm wide oven for a domestic house.

That’s odd, because there’s a big metal box in my kitchen that measures 450mm wide that’s been cooking my meals for the last few years. If it’s not an oven you’ve got me stumped.

Odd indeed! So, I take it your “kitchen” is not some tiny galley on a boat but a conventional land based abode of some kind. Any chance of providing more space for a replacement or can we help fix your existing Neff mini oven? There’s a solution to all this somewhere but little chance of replacing like for like, that’s for sure.

I think Neff (BSH), Gaggenau (now BSH), Kuppersbusch and a few other German brands did some whackadoodle stuff way back Martin but, if it is that then this is likely to be a fair age. They went through a phase of trying out different dimensions, which wasn’t so helpful come replacement time when it basically meant a new kitchen.
If not it’s probably some sort of special for someone and, as such, finding a replacement is probably going to border on impossible.

I was a Neff agent from 1975 to 1986 so I must have overlooked their “whackadoodle” period? Peter Joyce was service manager during that time…..remember him?

It was after I left the education system, not before. 😉
And, I do remember Pete. Knew him from HTM distribution days in the late eighties/early nineties.
