universal fan part for ABA6541??

Hello

Our Diplomat fridge/freezer (ABA6541) is no longer cooling, and a week ago, before the whole mfi disaster, mfi sent an engineer out to look at it, who said the fan was faulty and needed replacing. Unfortunately, mfi didn’t have the part in, and I’m not now expecting to be able to get hold of it any time soon, due to both mfi and the italian supplier apparently being in administration.

My question is, does anybody know if another part would do as well? The engineer who came round said something about a samsung fan working just as well, but now I can’t get hold of him either. Are there any universal parts?

I dont suppose you can get a photo of the fan motor you need and the details that are printed on it is there ?

Hi Becky,

The part you need is 512023700 which becomes 651015837 from what I can see. But, you’ve been hit with a double whammy here as not only is MFI in administration with no clarity on what’s happening with spares at the moment but, the machine was manufactured by Antonio Merloni (Servis UK) who are also in administration.

Price is roughly about £50 plus VAT and shipping.

We can easily order the part, no problem, we just don’t know when we’d get it. 🙁

Thanks for the information. I have managed to get hold of the original engineer who came round last week through mfi, and he’s going to fit a samsung fan, which he says will work just as well. It will of course invalidate the warranty, but it doesn’t look like that is worth the paper it’s printed on anyway 🙁

I’ll hold on to the old part in case I need to try to match it, and keep hold of those part numbers as well.

I hope its not the side by side samsung fridge freezer as they are 12v and completly different.

Insist on correct part to be fitted the fan motors for them are easily available still.

no, i can assure you it was a 240volt fan. would i be that daft ❗

Yes, the point is when could you get the original fan, this side of christmas ❓

But theres a thought, a 12 volt fan, a small transformer, mess with the wiring ❓ No life is too short.

Thanks again for fitting the fan, fridge is now nice and cod and I won’t be poisoning everyone on Christmas Day.

I’ve got exactly the same problem as Rebecca and have got nowhere with ordering the part myself. Can anyone advise on where I can get the new fan I need for the ABA6541?

the fan i use it has the same plug but is used in the freestanding servis equivalent is 512023200.
